China is a major consumer of energy, and the machinery manufacturing industry is a very important component of it. With the continuous development of heavy industries such as components and mechanical manufacturing, heat treatment plays an important supporting role in the revitalization and development of China's mechanical manufacturing industry. The development of the mechanical manufacturing industry will surely drive the rapid development of China's heat treatment industry, providing a broad space for the development of China's heat treatment industry. The development prospects of the industry are broad. The 12th Five-Year Plan particularly points out that it is necessary to make full use of industry information platforms, promote new technologies, guide enterprise innovation, and vigorously develop energy-saving heat treatment. Leverage the advantages of the technology research and development service platform to provide support for energy conservation and emission reduction in the industry; Give full play to the role of the expert committee as a think tank and carefully organize and recommend basic engineering projects. As an important equipment manufacturing base in the western region, one of the four major automobile production bases, and a national motorcycle production base, China is at the forefront of reform and innovation in the heat treatment industry.

To reduce the emissions of SO2, CO, CO2, dust and coal ash, the use of coal as fuel has been basically banned, and the consumption of heavy oil is also decreasing. Light oil is mostly used instead, and natural gas remains an ideal fuel. The utilization of waste heat from combustion furnaces has reached a very high level. The optimization of the burner structure and the strict control of the air-fuel ratio ensure that NOX and CO are reduced to the maximum extent under the premise of reasonable combustion. Replace salt bath treatment with gas carburizing, carbo-nitriding and vacuum heat treatment technologies to reduce the pollution of water sources by waste salt and toxic substances containing CN-. Water-soluble synthetic quenching oil is used to replace part of the quenching oil, and biodegradable vegetable oil is used to replace part of the mineral oil to reduce oil pollution. The wastewater, waste gas, waste salt, dust, noise and electromagnetic radiation formed in heat treatment production can all cause pollution to the environment. Solving the environmental pollution problem caused by heat treatment and implementing clean heat treatment (or green and environmentally friendly heat treatment) is one of the development directions of heat treatment technology in developed countries.

Heat treatment equipment has many advantages such as fast heating speed, energy conservation, no oxidation and decarburization, no environmental pollution and high production efficiency. These advantages are widely recognized by heat treatment workers, so it has developed rapidly in the past decade or so. Of course, this actual demand has also greatly promoted the development and technological improvement of domestic induction heat treatment equipment. Take China FAW in Changchun as an example. The company has nearly 100 induction heat treatment devices, among which 50 have been newly added or updated in the past decade, almost all of which are silicon-controlled rectifier medium frequency equipment and IGBT super audio frequency equipment. Now, the weight of induction heat treatment parts for FAW's medium-sized trucks has reached 291.3 kilograms, accounting for 52% of all heat treatment parts. Induction heat treatment has truly taken up half of the heat treatment market.

At present, people's understanding of the significance of this issue is still far from reaching the level of understanding the environment. At present, *** and many insightful people have fully realized that the solution to this problem cannot rely solely on preaching; it is now time for legislation and the formulation of regulations. The potential for the effective utilization, economical use and reuse after regeneration of resources such as fuel, electricity, water and oil used in heat treatment equipment is huge. The energy source for heat treatment heating equipment must be rationally selected based on local conditions and the time. There is considerable room for improvement in the thermal efficiency of the heating equipment. The waste heat from fuel products must be fully utilized. A large amount of cooling water must be recycled. The grease removed from the surface of the workpiece should be classified and recycled. The expired quenching oil should be collected, refined and reused or used for other purposes. In conclusion, the effective utilization and regeneration of resources are very important components of the sustainable development strategy of the heat treatment industry.
